What this site collects
This site is deliberately sparing. Beyond the technically necessary hosting logs below, it embeds no third-party content and sets no cookies unless you explicitly allow analytics.
Server log files (hosting)
When you open a page, our hosting provider (Microsoft, Azure data centre in the EU) processes the technically necessary connection data: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred and basic browser / operating-system information. These server logs serve the secure, stable operation of the site only and are not combined with other data. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). Microsoft acts as our processor.
Reach measurement with Google Analytics 4 — only with consent
Only if you click "Accept" in the cookie banner do we load Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) with IP anonymisation. It then sets cookies to recognise your browser across page views for aggregate usage statistics. Without your consent GA is not loaded and no such cookies are set. You can withdraw consent any time via the banner, reopened from the privacy link. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent). With GA active, data may also be transferred to the USA (Google, EU–US Data Privacy Framework).
Reading state in your browser (localStorage)
When you open an article or mark it as read — and when you open one of the labs (noted as "visited") — your browser remembers that state locally in localStorage (key "lc-lesestand") — on your device. It never leaves your browser: no server, no cookie, no transfer to us or anyone else. Its sole purpose is showing you your own reading state (§ 25 (2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG — strictly necessary for this feature you requested). You can delete it here at any time (articles and labs alike):
Contact
A message sent to lostcontext@carecom.de reaches our mailbox only. We do not pass it on to anyone or store it in any third-party system. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR.
Your rights
Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection under Art. 15–21 GDPR, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Requests by email to the address listed in the imprint.
